The Applebee Family

I have managed to trace this branch of the family back to their roots in Somerset during the 1750’s. I knew there was a George, who the baker in Castle Cary, & we found him & his family on the 1841 census. Since then we have worked back a couple of generations, & worked through many branches from there. I am still hoping to work down through more of these.

I do not know why they moved from a beautiful part of Somerset to what is described as rat infested alleyways in Clerkenwell, but I have enjoyed the research of this family of bakers, drapers, venetian blind makers, & veteran motorbike racers.
